Watershed studies

Level I Watershed Studies provide reconnaissance work of water sources in a watershed to to look at potential water development projects. The purpose is to evaluate watershed conditions and opportunities for projects in a watershed. This first phase, project planning, is completed to open up opportunities for funding through the Small Water Project Program grants. Potential projects might include irrigation improvements, livestock and water developments and stream enhancements for example. With funding from the Wyoming Water Development Commission, SCCD has sponsored the Upper Green River Watershed Study and the New Fork River Watershed Study.
